At the age of 25
I came home after
working 16 hours.

I heated up a pot
of Dinty Moore
from a can, and waited.

It was warm and salty,
with whole grain bread
to help me shit better.

I thought while I ate.
And then some more,
right after, brushing.

I sat on the edge
of my mattress,
I kicked off my shoes.

My feet smelled
like old cheese and
a three-day sweat.

“Well” I thought,
and not much else.
But sleep felt good.

I recommend a shower. Every day and especially after working. So important for our mental.

Working hard with no time for the self (eating, washing, thinking, sitting around or whatever is one’s desire and tendency) is so destructive. It is a shame most of us, humans, cannot give up on some capital for that. I mean, we could, we can, anyone can do with less money but in this world money still mean some kind of freedom. It might be seen as falls freedom but at any given time in history people needed money (or equivalent) to live and produce. Unless we go to live in the high mountains or the deep forest or desert we are bound to be working. Working is great. Working is producing. Working is the manifestation of our talents and acquired wisdom. Working is health. Only the definition of working needed be more clear. And the pay-check for it.

(when my ramble is too much just take it away and let me know)
